The Western Derby is upon us and Lautoka Football Association Head of Media and Communications, Shelvin Chand, sat down with Lautoka Legend Maika Waqa for an exclusive interview ahead of the all important match.

LautokaFootball.com: First of all I want to say that I have been a huge fan of yours for so long. It’s great to see you back. First time you are facing Ba in so long, how do you feel about the match?

Maika: Well, it's always good to play a champion team like Ba. Personally, I would be able to gauge my performance as a forward against some of the current national defenders in the Ba side. I'm feeling right at home and playing Ba is just like playing any other team though it will be my first match against them after a long time. I expect a very exciting encounter and hopefully I won't disappoint the loyal Lautoka soccer fans.

LautokaFootball.com: What do you think of our website?

Maika: I'm not good in IT and stuff but I believe you guys are doing what you do best for our website. I think you're doing a great job.

LautokaFootball.com: What is your message to the fans ahead of this huge clash?

Maika: Your continued support is highly appreciated. In good and bad times, we need the fans to be behind the boys always. We have a bunch of young and very energetic talented boys and even a tap on the back or thank you would give us the boost to improve our performance up another notch. Thank you Lautoka and its loyal fans.

LautokaFootball.com: Finally, I am gonna put on the spot and ask you, who do you think will win?

Maika: I think the team that makes less mistakes will win the match. Honestly speaking, both the teams have equal chances of taking the 3 points which is up for grabs.
